8th grade students, I am excited for our first blog to be started. Today you will be reading an article on the Pythagorean Theorem. The website to view the article is
https://nrich.maths.org/2721. Please read the article and write one paragraph (5-6 sentences) on what you have learned from it. Be sure to put how you can relate what you have learned in real life. Next, you will comment on another students blog. I
do not want to see anything like " Good Job" or " I agree". Your response must be 2-3 sentences.
pythagorean of sanos was a very huge impact on mathematics his theories is still used in mathematics today he was one of the greatest thinkers of all time he created a group called mathematicians who worshiped numbers and lived like monks.
ReplyDeleteI learned that Pythagoras was a greek philosopher. I also learned that the side that is opposite of the right angle is called Hypotenuse. I learned that 1,4,9,16,25 are square numbers. Also I learned that 1,3,6,15 are all triangular numbers. Lastly, I learned that A squared plus B squared equals C squared
ReplyDeletewho ever this is showed me something new 1,4,9,16,25 are square numbers
Deletewhen I read this article... I see what they're talking about they're giving good examples of what it will look like which is very unique. By the way I didn't know that Pythagorean was a person I thought it was a myth for us to use in math but now i realize it was a person who made math and discovered new things that we can admire! What I learned was that everything in the world could be explained by numbers and that we worked hard as much about numbers to be able to understand the universe.
ReplyDeleteThe End!
i learned that if you tear off the corners of a triangle and fit them together like a puzzle you well make a straight line Perhaps the most famous theorem in the world is known as Pythagoras' theorem. It is thought that it was known to the Babylonians 1000 years earlier but Pythagoras may have been the first to prove it.
ReplyDeletei learned that Pythagoras saw numbers as females or males or beautiful and ugly.i also learned that the school of Pythagoras also studied shapes in was more interested in triangles. i learned that Pythagoras theorem is the most famous theorem. i also learned that he spent most of his life studying math.
ReplyDeleteI learned that odd numbers are like 1,3,5,7,9,1. Even numbers are 2,4,6,8,10,12. Square numbers are like 1,4,9,16,25. I learned that the sum of the angles of a triangle is equal to two right angles. Hypotenuse is the name given to the right side that is opposite of the right angle.

ReplyDeletePythagoras was a greek philosopher he developed math.I learned that there was square numbers 1,4,9,16,25,.I learned that there was triangle numbers 1,3,6,10,15,.I learned that numbers may have a meaning to them. I learned that sum angles on a triangle is equal to a right triangle.
ReplyDeleteI also learned that 1,4,9,16,25 are square numbers

I learn that Pythagoras made important development in mathematics. I also learn that he spent most of his time studying mathematics. Numbers were thought to be male and female. Back then the number one was the number of reason. The last that I learn Pythagoras theorem says if you add the smaller squares together you should get a big squares.

i learned that Pythagoras was a Greek philosopher. He spent most his life studying math and formed a special school where members followed strict rules. Some things they studied were number; Pythagorean's believed that numbers were either a male or female, ugly or beautiful, or had a special meaning. Such as: 1 is the number of reason, 2 is the first even or female number and the number of opinion, 3 is the first true male number and the number of harmony, 4 is the number of justice, 5 means marriage and 6 is creation. some other ideas is that he believed in odd numbers such as: 1,3,5,7,9; even numbers such as: 2,4,6,8; triangle numbers such as: 1,3,6,10,15 and square numbers such as: 1,4,9,16,25. ReplyDeleteI learn About Triangular numbers, like 1, 3, 6, 10, 15. And I learned about Square numbers, like 1, 4, 9, 16, 25. I learned Pythagoras spent spent much of his life studying mathematics and formed a special school. I learned that Pythagoras believed that everything in the world could be explained by numbers and his school worked hard to try to learn enough about numbers to be able to understand the universe. So I learned That everything In the world explain numbers I really Didn't know that. @JaidonMArshall
ReplyDeleteI think you wrote down some good facts. I also think they you had some good information

I learned that Pythagoras spent much of his life studying mathematics and formed a special school. I can relate to that because I have to learn math in the real world because it'll help me count money and measure things. Some of the things they believed in are odd to us now. For example they thought numbers had it's own special nature about it. Pythagoras thought numbers were male or female ,ugly or beautiful,or had a special meaning to it. They worked on things we work on today like even or odd numbers.-Heber Amparo
ReplyDeleteI learned that Pythagoras studied mathmatics. He formed a special school.Pythagoras believed that everything in the world could be explained by numbers. And some of the math can be hard to you.Pythagoras made mathmatics seem a little bit easier. Jamareion James

ReplyDeleteI learned that same thing I learned that 1,4,9,16,25 are square numbers. Also I learned that 1,3,6,15 are all triangular numbers.Nice work
DeleteI learned that many numbers were though to have their own nature . I learned that triangular numbers are like 1, 3, 6, 10, 15 . Square numbers are like 1, 4, 9, 16, 25 . Some of these ideas that were worked on are things that we still use in school . In some of these ideas mathematicians still use today @kaliyah.

ReplyDeletewhen i read this article about the pythagorean therom i have learned from this is that we still use some of the math that he used in his special school cause we still use even and odd numbers and i also learned that he had numbers that were male or female and numbers that meant harmony and marriage and his special school was really interested in triangles.-austin shea
ReplyDeleteI learned that back then Pythagorean's thought that numbers were male or female , ugly or beautiful , or had a special meaning to them.I also learned that triangular numbers, like 1, 3, 6, 10, 15. I learned what numbers are squared numbers like 1, 4, 9, 16, 25. I learned what Hypotenuse mean, which is the side that is opposite the right angle.I learned that the sum of the angles of a triangle is equal to two right angles. I can relate to what I have learned in real because in class we went over Hypotenuse because she knew we would need to know the meaning of Hypotenuse to complete an assignment.

ReplyDeleteThat Phythagoras was a Greek philosopher who made important developments. Some of those developments were mathematics and the theory of music. He thought that everything in the world could be explained by numbers and at his school the worked very hard to be able to understand the universe. The theorem says for a right-angled triangle the square on the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares on the other two sides. We use this in real life by seeing what the surface area of something is.-Montana Clifton
ReplyDeleteLong time ago instead of thinking number like a number line they see it was male or female, ugly or beautiful, or had a special meaning. At first I was confused about why they see it like that but know I understand because they used these terms because there school probably just use it because it was easier to learn numbers. It was known to the Babylonians 1000 years earlier but Pythagoras may have been the first to prove it. I feel like if Pythagoras was never made we would not have the ability to add or subtracted numbers. I think that at their school it was more advanced because they had to more to learn and new things to discover. I am sure that here and now on there is gonna be to more things discovered.

Greek philosophers thought that numbers had their own meaning.Ideas they worked we still learn like odd numbers, even numbers, cubed numbers and square numbers. The school of pythagoras also studied shapes.Pythagorean Theorom is the most famous theorom.A hypotenuse is the opposite side of a right angle.Pythagoras theorom says that if we add the smaller squares we should get the big square. - Breann
ReplyDeletePythagoras a Greek philosopher who lived from about 580 BC to about 500 BC. a man who development in mathematics, astronomy, and the theory of music. he wanted a school to kids teach the wonders of math the universe and so on.
